Introduction to Podcasting

This workshop will provide an introduction to instructional uses of Podcasting. Participants will consider examples of instructional podcasts, discuss recent research about the educational use of this technology, and learn about free software tools to get started with podcasting. Participants will also gain an understanding of the process of recording, posting and subscribing to podcasts, as well as have the chance to make a simple podcast of their own. This is a great opportunity for participants to discuss the possibilities of Podcasting in the classroom and beyond.

  • Be able to make informed decisions about using podcasting in your teaching based on recent research in the educational use of this technology.
  • Consider and be able to use copyright and fair use guidelines related to podcasting in education.
